​Little if Any Talk about Immigration Seems Likely
on This Weekend's  Sunday Morning 
​​Public Affairs Programs

Given the guest lineups for the five major Sunday morning public affairs programs, it would appear that there will be little if any discussions about immigration on this week's programs.
​
​
A sneak peek at the guest lists for the upcoming August 2, 2020, editions of each of the five major broadcast and cable Sunday public affairs programs appears after the jump, along with previews of the likely or possible discussions on those programs about immigration and, refugees.
ABC - This Week:  The headliner guests on the August 2, 2020, edition of ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos program will be Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin.

Also appearing on he program will be
ABC News Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton and former Trump Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Adviser and ABC News Contributor Tom Bossert.

Appearing during the political roundtable segment of the program this week will be ABC News Senior Congressional Correspondent Mary Bruce, ABC News White House Correspondent and D.C. Correspondent Rachel Scott, FiveThirtyEight Senior Writer Perry Bacon, and Axios National Political Reporter Jonathan Swan.​

Given the lineup of guests, it unlikely that the subject of immigration will be discussed during the program.

CBS - Face the Nation:  The headliner guests on the August 2, 2020, edition of CBS's "Face the Nation" program will be White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC).

Also appearing on the program will be Neel Kashkari, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis; Vanita Gupta, President and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights; Anthony Salvanto, CBS News Elections and Surveys Director; and Dr. Scott Gottlieb, Former FDA Commissioner.
 
Given the lineup of guests, it unlikely that the subject of immigration will be discussed during the program.

CNN - State of the Union:  The headliner guests on the August 2, 2020, edition of CNN’s “State of the Union with Jake Tapper” program will be White House Coronavirus Task Force Member Dr. Deborah Birx and House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC)..

Also appearing on the program this week will be Governor Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) and Former Georgia Senate Minority Leader Stacey Abrams (D-GA), rumored to be under consideration by former Vice President Joe Biden to be his 2020 vice presidential running mate.

Given the lineup of guests, it unlikely that the subject of immigration will be discussed during the program.

FOX - Fox News Sunday:  The headliner guests on the August 2, 2020, edition of FOX's "Fox News Sunday" program will be Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Congressional Black Caucus Chair Karen Bass (D-CA), both rumored to be under consideration by former Vice President Joe Biden to be his 2020 vice presidential running mate.

Also appearing on he program will be Jason Miller, Trump Campaign Senior Advisor.

Appearing during the political roundtable segment of the program this week will be Ben Domenech, The Federalist; Donna Brazile, Former Chair of the Democratic National Committee; and Lanhee Chen, Fellow at the Hoover Institution.

Given the lineup of guests, it unlikely that the subject of immigration will be discussed during the program.

NBC - Meet the Press:   The headliner guests on the August 2, 2020, edition of NBC’s “Meet the Press” program  will be Congressional Black Caucus Chair Karen Bass (D-CA), rumored to be under consideration by former Vice President Joe Biden to be his 2020 vice presidential running mate.

Also appearing on the program will be Admiral Brett Giroir, M.D., Assistant Secretary for Health at the Department of Health and Human Services; White House Coronavirus Task Force Member; Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, Infectious Diseases Physician and Medical Director of Special Pathogens Unit, Boston University School of Medicine; NBC News Medical Contributor; and NBC News’ “County to County”: The 2020 Fight To Win The Suburbs Vaughn Hillyard, NBC News Political Reporter from Surprise, Arizona; and Dasha Burns, NBC News Political Reporter from East Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Appearing during the political roundtable segment of the program this week will be Robert Draper, Writer, The New York Times Magazine; Author, “To Start a War: How the Bush Administration Took America into Iraq”; Heather McGhee, Board Co-Chair, Color of Change; NBC News Analyst; and Andrea Mitchell, NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent; Host, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports.
