What is ThisWeekInImmigration.Com?
This is a Beta website that is testing the feasibility of tracking and providing detailed, timely, well-informed, and high quality information on a day-to-day basis about United States immigration, refugee, and human trafficking policy, law, legislation, and politics.
ThisWeekInImmigration.Com seeks to do this in a manner that is non-partisan, that takes no sides on the issues, and that does not attempt to influence the direction of policy or politics; rather, we merely strive to chronicle what is said, what is done, and what is planned regarding these important policy and political subjects.
Who Runs ThisWeekInImmigration.Com?
We here at ThisWeekInImmigration.Com all have day jobs, and so we ask that you be patient with us when you encounter the occasional typographical error or split-infinitive. We strive to be timely, professional, and accurate about what we post here more than we strive to be poetic about how we state it.
When Will ThisWeekInImmigration.Com C0mplete its Beta Testing Period?
We are planning to operate ThisWeekInImmigration.Com beginning with the convening of the First Session of the 116th Congress (January of 2019) and continuing until the end of the second session of the 116th Congress (December of 2020). After that period, we will evaluate the project and determine whether it performed a useful function, whether there was an actual market or audience for the content, and whether it is feasible for us to continue posting information on the site.
In the meantime, we hope that that you will bear with us as we experiment from time-to-time with different formats, features, options, and internet technologies.
What Features Can We Count on Being Available During the Beta Testing Period?
There are several features of ThisWeekInImmigration.Com that we consider permanent and stable enough that we can promise that they will always be both available and contain up-to-date information.

Why is there No Charge for Using ThisWeekInImmigration.Com?
We have no plans to charge for using ThisWeekInImmigration.Com.
While it is true that there are substantial costs associated with hosting, developing, and providing content for ThisWeekInImmigration.Com, we are not doing this as a money-making venture; we only are doing this as a labor of love. So far, we are bearing the costs ourselves.
It is conceivable that the costs could become prohibitive at some point and that we may offer users an opportunity to help defray those costs by making either monetary or technical, in-kind contributions. However we have no plans at this time for such an eventuality.
This Site is So Professional. Are You Technological Geniuses and Wizards?
Yes. We have a sense of humor here at ThisWeekInImmigraton.Com.
We know that this site is ... well... a bit less than cutting-edge. However, we are passionate about public policy, the art of legislating, and the political process here; not technocrats. In actuality, none of us here at ThisWeekInImmigration.Com had ever written a line of code in HTML, CSS, Java, or any other internet-based language or technology before we undertook this project. All we have is a copy of "Developing Websites for Dummies," a healthy heaping of chutzpah. and a dictionary that enabled us to spell the word, chutzpah (since none of us had ever written or typed that word before this moment)!
And so we ask you to bear with us as we learn our way around internet coding and technologies.
