Public Affairs Programs
A sneak peek at the guest lists for the upcoming April 16, 2017, editions of each of the five major broadcast and cable Sunday public affairs programs appears after the jump, along with previews of the likely or possible discussions on those programs about immigration and, refugees.
Also appearing on the program will be Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney )D-NY) and former Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ)
Participating in the program's political roundtable this week will be former Obama senior adviser and director of the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics David Axelrod, Republican strategist and ABC News contributor Alex Castellanos, ABC News political analyst Matthew Dowd, former Bloomberg Businessweek editor Megan Murphy, and ABC News senior White House correspondent Cecilia Vega.
Also appearing on the program will he Senator Rand Paul (R-KY); Freedom Caucus Chairman Representative Mark Meadows (R-NC); and House Intelligence Committee Ranking Minority Member Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA). The program also will hear from former Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare under president Jimmy Carter, Joseph A. Califano.
Appearing during the political roundtable segment of the program this week will be Peter Beinart, Contributing Editor at the Atlantic and CNN Political Commentator; Susan Davis , Congressional Correspondent for NPR; Susan Glasser, Chief International Affairs Columnist at Politico; and Ramesh Ponnuru, Senior Editor for the National Review, Columnist for Bloomberg View, and Visiting Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.
Also appearing on the program this week will be former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson.
Appearing during the political roundtable segment of the program will be former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA); Jen Psaki, Vice President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; conservative commentator Linda Chavez; and Karine Jean-Pierre, Senior Advisor and National Spokesperson for MoveOn.Com.
Also appearing on the program this week will be Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH), one of the leaders of the conservative-leaning Freedom Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Appearing during the program's political pundits segments this week will be former Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-UT); Rachael Bade, Congressional Correspondent for Politico; Guy Benson, Political Editor, Townhall.com; and Marie Harf, a Fox News Political Analyst.
Also appearing on the program this week will be White House aide Mark Short, who is Assistant to the President and Director of Legislative Affairs for President Trump; and Clint Watt, a Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
Given the appearance of Senator Flake on the program, it is highly likely that there will be discussions about immigration or refugee matters during the program.
